Personal Information Processing Policy

Daekyung M&I Co., Ltd(hereinafter referred to as “Company”) set forth and enforces the following processing policy to safeguard personal information and rights/interests of users and to resolve grievance of users without disruption in connection with personal information pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Act. Information of customer is not only valuable asset of individual but also important data necessary for running the Company. Therefore, Company is fully committed to protection of customers’ information throughout entire operation processes of Company. In the event that the Personal Information Processing Policy is revised, the revision will be made public through website. 

Chapter 1. Procedure for consent to collection of personal information 

Company will consider you to have agreed to collection of personal information if you clicked on ‘(I agree) button’ through the process that allows you to accept or reject the Personal Information Processing Policy or details of Terms and Conditions for Use, which are presented on the website, by clicking on ‘(I agree) button’ or ‘(I disagree) button’. 


Chapter 2. Purpose of collection and use of personal information

Company uses personal information for the purposes specified below. The processed personal information will not be used for any purpose other than the purposes specified below, and prior consent will be requested if there is any change in the purpose of use. 
A. Name, ID, password: For the purpose of checking the intention to sign up for membership; preventing fraudulent use of services; figuring out the login frequency; and authenticating the user of membership services
B. Email address, telephone number(for ascertainment of receipt): For the purpose of providing notice to user; ascertaining the intention of user; securing the route for undisrupted communication in handling complaints, etc.; providing information related to events and advertisements and offering the opportunity for participation; figuring out the login frequency or obtaining statistical data on member’s use of service
C. Address, telephone number: For the purpose of acquiring accurate shipping information for delivery of giveaways and goods 

Chapter 3. Transmission of advertising information

A. Company does not transmit advertising information for profit-making purpose against your explicit rejection to receive such advertising information. 
B. Company serves notices by email and mobile phone text message or through other electronic transmission media to inform you of any change in Company’s articles of incorporation or any change related to the use of services and to provide you with information on new services/new products or events, and other product information, etc. In that case, Company selects the details and method of notice in compliance with applicable laws. 
C. In the event that Company transmits advertising information, such as product information guide, by email, etc. for online marketing, Company will take measures to ensure that the subject line and body line of the email, etc., containing advertising information have the indication allowing the customer to easily recognize it. 


Chapter 4. Scope of collection of personal information 

Company may access most contents freely without having to sign up for membership. For use of membership services, the following information should be entered. 
A. Items of personal information to be collected: Name, email address, date of birth, ID, password, gender, address, mobile phone number(phone), email opt-in/opt-out information, SMS opt-in/opt-out information, service use record, access log, recipient customer information(name, telephone number, address, email address)
B. Method for collection of personal information: Membership signup, bulletin, etc., on the website 


Chapter 5. Period for retention and use of personal information 

Company will immediately destroy personal information after the purpose of collection and use of personal information was achieved. However, the following information is retained for specified period for the reasons specified below:
- Items of personal information to be retained: Name, login ID, password, email address, date of birth 
- Basis for retention: For preventing the recurrence of fraudulent use by bad members 
- Retention period: One(1) month

Moreover, if retention is necessary pursuant to applicable laws, Company will retain member information for certain period specified by applicable laws as below: 
Records pertaining to handling of consumer complaints or disputes: Three(3) years (in accordance with the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc.)



Chapter 6. Procedure and method for destruction of personal information 

In principle, Company will destroy personal information without delay after the purpose of personal information processing is achieved. The procedure, time limit, and method for destruction of personal information are as follows: 

- Procedure for destruction 
The information provided by you for membership signup, etc., will be transferred to a separate database(a separate paper box, if information is written on paper) after achievement of the purpose, and then will be stored for certain period, depending on the circumstances for protection of information, pursuant to internal policy and other applicable laws(please refer to the period of retention and use) before destruction. Personal information, transferred to a separate database, will not be used for any purpose other than retention, except as otherwise required by the laws. 

- Time limit for destruction 
If it is past the retention period, personal information of user will be destroyed within five(5) days after expiry of the retention period. If personal information becomes unnecessary for reasons such as achievement of the purpose of personal information processing, discontinuation of service, shutdown of business, etc., personal information will be destroyed within five(5) days after the date on which personal information processing is deemed unnecessary. 

- Method for destruction
Information in electronic file format will be destroyed using the technical method that makes it impossible to retrieve the information. 


Chapter 7. Measures for ensuring safety of personal information 

Company takes the following measures necessary to ensure safety as prescribed in Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act. 

A. Minimal number of employees handling the personal information; and education for such employees: For management of personal information, Company designates the employees handling the personal information and keeps minimal number of personnel in charge. 
B. Encryption of personal information: Personal information and password of user are encrypted for storage and management, and therefore cannot be known to anyone other than the user himself/herself. Important data, kept on file or transmittable, are encrypted or safeguarded by separate security functions such as file lock function. 

Chapter 8. Appointment of Privacy Officer 

Company uses the best effort to ensure that customers can use information safely. The information on Privacy Officer, who handles personal information of customers, is presented below. We respond quickly and earnestly to your inquiry related to personal information.

Information Subject may contact the Privacy Officer and Privacy Manager who will provide answers to his/her inquiry on personal information protection, complaint handling, remedy for damage, etc. in the course of use of services made available by Company. 


Chapter 9. Acceptance of opinion & Complaint handling 

Company values the opinion of members, and members are always entitled to receive earnest answers to their questions and inquiries. Company is operating the customer support center to ensure smooth and undisrupted communication with members. 

Counseling in real time and over the phone is available only during business hours. For counseling by email and snail mail, Company will respond earnestly within 24 hours after acceptance of request. However, any request received outside of working hours or on weekends and holidays will be, in principle, processed on the following day. 
In response to theft of personal information, Company takes the following actions:
1.	If user is found to have signed up for membership, etc., using the personal information stolen from another person, actions will be taken against the user without delay, such as suspension of service for concerned ID or expulsion, etc.  
2.	If user makes request for suspension of service for concerned ID or withdrawal of membership after becoming aware of the theft of his/her personal information, Company immediately takes action at the request of the user.

Chapter 10. Obligation of Notification 

This Personal Information Processing Policy takes effect on the date of effectiveness. Any change, such as addition, deletion and correction, pursuant to laws and policies, will be notified through announcement from seven(7) days prior to the date of effectiveness.

We reject any unauthorized collection of email addresses from this website by means of email address collection program or other technological devices. Please note that violation of what is stated above will result in criminal punishment as prescribed in the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.

Any person, who falls under any of the followings, shall be punished by a fine within the range not exceeding 10 million won:
- Any person who puts any label on a product or sells a product bearing the label, or who displays such product with intent to sell it, in violation of Paragraph 4, Article
- Any person who disseminates, sells, leases or openly displays any obscene codes, letters, sound, images, or motion pictures in violation of Subparagraph 1, Paragraph 1, Article 44-7
- Any person who makes any codes, letters, sound, images, or motion pictures, evoking fear or anxiety, reach another person repeatedly in violation of Subparagraph 3, Paragraph 1, Article 44-7
- Any person who takes technical measures in violation of Paragraph 6, Article 50
- Any person who transmits advertising information in violation of Article 50-8, or collects, sells, distributes email addresses or use them for transmission of information in violation of Article 50-2
- A person who fails to report any revision to registration, or who fails to file a report on transfer, acquisition, merger, or inheritance of business, in violation of Paragraph 4, Article 53
